How You Can Help Clean Jersey Waterways Today

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this post. I am writing this because I want to share with you what I still need to start Clean Jersey Waterways.

Proof of Concept

I have made a total of twenty cleaning trips to four separate lakes within the last few months of 2025. I was able to gather and take out of our lakes over 20 car tires, multiple shopping carts, and other big items.

Every trip out we were able to gather minimum one full bag of trash from the shoreline and/or in the body of water itself.

I use my Youtube channel as a form of transparency and to show how much litter has accumulated in each lake.

What is the Next Step?

Before I can begin Clean Jersey Waterways non-profit, I need to create a board. It is important to me to choose the right candidates to start this journey because I am inexperienced at starting and running a non-profit.

While I build a board for Clean Jersey Waterways, I would like to expand on my proof of concept.

What it Means

Starting in March/April I am going to start cleaning up of the lakes that are apart of the Delaware Watershed. I am going to be taking 10 trips to 10 separate lakes throughout the year.

The goal is to weigh out the amount of trash at the beginning of the week and try to reduce the amount by 20% by the end of the week.

I want to take the bigger items such as car tires, shopping carts, etc and dispose of them properly at recycling plants.

Four times a year I want to test the levels of the water for dissolved oxygen and biological oxygen demand.

Why GoFundMe

  1. Dissolved Oxygen Tester

    • This is a device that I can put into the water and test DO levels. Year over year, I will be able to measure the impact that Clean Jersey Waterways has on the lakes we have visited.

  2. Water Testing

    • Water testing is sent to a lab, but will also show the impact that we are having on our lakes.

  3. Proper Disposal

    • Bringing large items to recycling plants cost money. For example, at $20 for each tire brought to my local recycling plant, I would have needed over $400 to dispose of them properly.

  4. Non-Profit

    • To start a business or non-profit you have to pay a lot of start up and legal fees. I want to continue to look for the right board, but also have the funds to start the non-profit when we are ready.

How to Help

Join my Youtube channel . This is where I post the videos from my lake cleanups. I also create Youtube Shorts to show some of the more interesting items I am cleaning from each lake.

Check out my GoFundMe to help raise money towards the items listed above. Any extra money raised, after purchasing the test kits, will be set aside until Clean Jersey Waterways officially becomes a non-profit. The board will then make all the decisions on where the money will be best spent to help grow our cause.
